Rohan Forest

Named after the first settlers name who settled the region because of his fascination with the Rown trees that grew frequently throughout this pine forest.   It holds a great many settlements that try to make this cold forest home, often being used as a source for the durable timber to be supplied to the neighbouring provinces and countries.   It is mostly known for the high quantity of goblin tribes that patrol the lands and claim the lives of many travellers who are unfortunate to stumble into them.

Geography

The white sprinkled expanse of rolling hills is tightly bound, with all measures of light being diminished by an impenetrable fog. The trees standing crowded together with few arms touching each other, each trying to reach up onto the heavens by stretching their height. The few bushes and weeds with jagged edges lean out towards you grazing you as you keep your eyes looking out for whatever is watching you.  The solid vegetation that persists is durable and holds the soil together forming the hilled terrain of the forest. The air is cold and whispers to the touch of heat like an old black kettle resting upon the fireplace. The hills roll on complex shapes and are drenched in snow making the land slow to cross on foot. The faint creek as you step with nothing else lets out a faint whisper. The few recently walked paths created by beasts stand alone drawing you further in. The deeper in you go the more you pick up on the odour of a carcass laying just off the path. Paths draw up to carriages and carts torn apart remaining still and dormant, but not sleeping, not breathing, yet not dead either.

Ecosystem

It is filled with a great many animals that call this place home: goblins, bears, deer, and many more. The arctic side of the forest keeps it in a winter state year round, with the southern half fluctuating with the seasons as change.

Tourism

Many Seyan and Mirran that follow the original cultural view it as a holy place where Creeh cried her frozen tears creating snow and if building a settlement tribute should be given. This was used as one of the original pilgrim sites in the early days of worship.
