Atalan

The continent of Atalan was a landmass lying in the middle of the Atalantean Ocean between Arcadia in the West and Telenos in the East. The continent was inhabited early after Emergence and its population swelled following the fall of the Draconic and Elven Empires. The continent was controlled in its entirety by the Atalan Empire which, at its height, was the most advanced civilization on the planet.  It's inhabitant's arrogance and pride at this fact would doom the continent, as through their actions they would doom their Empire and the continent to destruction. The exact method and cause of the fall is unknown and legends range from some great work of the Atalan turing on them to divine judgement, but the result was clear to all. In but a single day and night the continent of Atalan sank below the waves. Its destruction marked the end of the Age of Mortals and the beginning of the Age of Strife. Its destruction permanently altered the flow of Kalanth's ley lines and left a near permanent storm cycling above the waters where Atalan once stood.
