Personality
While not particularly popular with the broader public, Ando is well respected amongst the Senatorial class. As he brought stability in the aftermath of The Disaster at Braavos. Sacrificing his political career in the process of stabilizing the Republic. Ando has a calm and rational person able to form difficult compromises between very different parties. While politically capable Ando has always been seen more as a businessman. Spending most of his life consolidating domestic lumber production under his family's control. As Ando grows older he has slowly started to shift more responsibility on to his son and daughter.History
Once seen as a minor family with barely enough wealth to join the ranks of the senate. Ando's father and namesake Andolo Cahya continued to buy up rights to Mainland forest despite the low demand. Ando joined his father on these numerous business trips at the young age of 6 years old. His father already included him in smaller projects to help the boy learn the family business. The Cahya Family's wealth would explode with Visenya's invasion of Essos. Selling timber abroad and at home for warship construction. The family remained politically neutral, forming business connections with all three parties. This neutrality would serve them well, earning favors from several major politicians. Which they used to further expand their business interest. Ando would take control of the family around the beginning of Magister Jaqen's term. Ando would continue many of the same neutral policies of his father. With the exception of politics, he began to assert the family's political power. He is largely credited with jumpstarting Seresha Jaqen's career by supporting her role as Vice Magister. After the unfortunate death of Qarlon Jaqen, Ando would serve as Acting Magister for the emergency government. While unpopular he brought much needed stability to the shakened Lorath. Keeping it's democratic government intact through the crisis. For his efforts, the rapidly declining Whale Party would appoint Ando as party leader. Seeing the likely death of both Unity and Whale Parties due to The Disaster at Braavos. He and Seresha Jaqen managed to merge both into the New Unity Party. Through the marriage of his twin children to Seresha and Banyani Jaqen. Originally slated to become the new party's leader, his declining health has seen him take on a more supporting role to Seresha.Family Ties
