Dagon Petrochemical Firm

Overview   Dagon Petrochemical Firm (DPF) started as a humble yet affluent fuel trading company, handling numerous exports and imports through the south Asian trade corridor. After the descent of EV-1 to Earth, DPF seized an opportunity to accelerate their business, transforming from a mere trade company into a producer of experimental chemicals suitable for both fuel and weaponry. With a strong understanding of energetic chemistry and the necessary facilities to refine both common and alien elements, DPF continues to grow rapidly, both in capital and in output.   History   DPF began as a trading venture between noble brothers, seeking to invest their family's fortune into a suitable business that would secure the future of their offspring for generations to come. Small at first, honest business practices and strategic placement of trade offices led to quick growth, turning the once modest business into a regional power. Such a will to expand fed upon itself and, within two decades, the company became globally recognised as a trustworthy supplier and distributor.   The appearance and subsequent crash-landing of EV-1 held nothing but good news for DPF. Having obtained rights to the protection of the Deosai Plateau mere months before EV-1's descent, DPF had sole rights to the largest piece in the Pakistan region. The company moved quickly, temporarily reassigning all personnel in the immediate area to investigate and reclaim parts of the alien vessel. This proved fortuitous, as the technology upon their doorstep would lead to DPF's transformation from mere supplier to manufacturer and controller. Backed by the now elderly brothers' blessings, DPF continues to make strides in plumbing EV-1's secrets, leading to their ultimate debut into the rapidly-growing weapons market.   Technology   DPF is first and foremost a chemical engineering company, professing both a strong grasp in the development and refinement of chemical fuels as well as (more recently) chemically-enhanced weaponry. Slow to start on the development of Mechs, DPF's armoured scouts make use of extremely light and fragile "Skyframes," designed with very little protection. These Skyframes are both excellent recon and exploration units however, and so DPF uses them to roam the planet in search of fragments from EV-1's breakup.   While the Skyframes are sparse on armour and firepower, DPF has subcontracted a former mercenary group to help design the Mech's singular offensive system. The lightweight nature of the Skyframe necessitates a low-impact, streamlined weapon that would affect the Mech's mobility as little as possible. After some iterative engineering, the Charp Rifle was developed with the express purposes of being light, easy to use, and suitable for use with alternative ammunition packs. The Charp Rifle is secondary to DPF's main interest in combat technology: chemical enhancements. DPF scouts frequently carry numerous ammunition packs with various effects and additives. Coupled with the Charp Rifle's superior range, these ammunition packs can make a swift impression on any hostile Mech seeking to harm the scout.
