Kawamoto-Altberg Electronics Corporation
Kawamoto-Altberg Electronics Corporation, often called KAEC (sometimes pronounced like "cake"), is one of the leading human manufacturers of electronics and the originator of what is now the PMOD standard, as well as a major early contributor to semiconductor packaging technology and Cubechips.
History
Kawamoto-Altberg began as the semiconductor packaging division of Kawamoto Industries. After purchasing competitor Altberg Automation, the semiconductor packaging divisions of both companies were merged and split into a separate company called Kawamoto-Altberg Electronics Manufacturing. This new company became a key innovator in semiconductor packaging technology, developing many of the techniques now widely used in Cubechip manufacturing.
As the company began dominating the semiconductor packaging field and started expanding into electronics design and manufacturing at all levels, eventually becoming one of the leading electronics manufacturers on earth.
