Goblins of Meara

The goblins of Meara are feared across the civilized world, not because of any inherent evil, but because of their amazing knack for creating crazy contraptions and endangering their own lives and those of everyone nearby.

Goblin Species

Age. Goblins are by far the shortest lived sentient race on Meara, reaching "adulthood" by age 7 and able to live no longer than about 40 years.
Size.
Goblins stand around 3 and a half feet tall, and are scrawny of build, weighing an average of 35 pounds. Your size is Small.
Speed.
Your base walking speed is 25 feet.
Darkvision.
You have keen vision, especially in the dark. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Soul Gem.
At the top of your breastbone rests a gleaming stone, of varying color, which contains a link to Goblins of your lineage, past and future. By touching the gem, and spending an action, you can tap into the memories of your lineage, giving yourself advantage on one skill check made in the next ten minutes. Once you have used this ability, you can't use it again until after you have completed a short or long rest.
Natural Inventor.
You have advantage on checks with Tinker's Tools, and on checks with any other Artisan's tool when you are creating a new design, or adding "improvements" to an existing object.
Fearless.
You are immune to fear effects.

Common Goblin Cultures

Goblins in their traditional culture are At Home in the Sky, but individuals and small groups have rained down on just about every inhabited corner of the world at one time or another, and settled wherever they weren't chased off.   Heritage Suggestions:
Relatively few Traditional heritages have time to get passed down among Goblins, given their very brief childhoods, but of those that do, the most common is Wind, given its potential for increasing an Aerie resident's lifespan and thus chances of reproducing. Feats are also highly sought after.
