At Home in the Sky--Culture
At Home in the Sky
Alignment Suggestions: The folk of the Aeries live relatively disorganized lives, influenced as they are by the ubiquitous Goblins, so Chaotic alignments are more common than not. Additionally, each flying island's inhabitants choose their own form of government or lack thereof, given the unpredictability of distance from any neighbors.
Languages Known: In addition to Common, your native language is Aerial. You are also fluent in one of the halfling language variants of a "flatlander" place you've overflown a few times.
Cultural Weapon Training: You are proficient with thrown grappling hooks, as well as scimitars, light crossbows and heavy crossbows.
Skill and Tool Proficiencies: You have proficiency with one of Air Vehicles, Athletics, or Acrobatics, as well as one of Alchemist's Supplies, Carpenter's Tools, Tinker's Tools, or Weaver's Tools.
No Fear of Falling: Because you've lived most of your life with the potential of plummeting off the edge of your world, you're never unprepared for a sudden fall. Whether it's a chip of sky rock sewn into your undergarments or a grapple and line always ready to hand, your preparations give you advantage on any save or skill check where failure would result in a fall.
Heritage Suggestions: In addition to the shifter lines of the Aeries, the most common Traditions are the Peaks, Rainbows, and Wind.
