Precipice

As head of the gathering, refining, and exportation of sea salt, Precipice is the owner of one of Cliffside's most lucrative and perilous trades. For the brave - or desperate - breadwinner looking to get ahead, she often represents the first rung of a long social ladder. Unfortunately for the employees who show too much promise, her manager, Slate, often finds unsavory reasons to necessitate a termination of their employment. This has led her to keep him on for far longer than she ever wanted or intended to.
Precipice is wedged solidly in the middle of the great Sinew/Wicker conflict. She's one of the few who knows (and remembers) something remotely close to the truth of what happened to Wicker's wife. Because of her unwillingness to upset the balance of trade, her admiration of both fellow bosses, and ongoing mutual attraction with Sinew, she has not interfered. Though, truth be told, she would not be too distraught over Joy's comeuppance - it's only Sinew's sake that she cares for.
