Arshuan
The Arshuan are a human ethnic group that primarily inhabited the north and northeast regions of Maverot. Typically adjusted to cold climes with mountainous geography, the Arshuans eventually migrated into the northern and mid western plains. After the Medilazzo family conquered the challenges of the southeastern high plains, the Arshuans moved to settle that area as well.
Arshuans share many features with their patron Guardian, Meprestua, including pale, matte skin tones that can darken to olive shades in sun exposure, angled eyes with close lids, and oval or oblong faces with rounded features. While most Arshuans have straight hair, the color depends heavily on their geographic distribution. The mountain and tundra dwelling Arshuans tend to have lighter hair ranging from platinum blonde to rich browns, while plains dwellers tend to have darker hair, typically black. All Arshuans have lightly colored eyes unless intermarriage introduces dark eyed genes. Though blue and green are most common, some more unusual colors have been documented among isolated settlements. Grey eyed children are considered particularly blessed, as they share Meprestua's eye color.
