Caius

A casoh wanderer and fortune teller, Caius would eventually be one of the adventurers blamed for the Massacre of the Dawn, and be forced to flee from the Welthrone government. With the help of the other members of the Band on the Run, he eventually cleared his name and returned to his wanderings.

Physical Description

Specialized Equipment

Caius's most powerful item was the mysterious Deck of Gods, a tarot deck with cards corresponding to the various deities. Drawing the cards could create powerful, but potentially dangerous effects based on the god drawn. Caius hesitated to utilize the item due to the ramifications, but during the daemonic invasion of the Temple of the Divines, he drew from it. Drawing Lys, the Dealmaker, the Enthosian Elder of deals a commerce, he was drawn into Lys's storehouse, and was able to purchase goods from him. Realizing that the invaders of the temple were vulnurable to holy water, Caius bartered with the demigod, purchasing thousands of gold worth of blessed water, and having it flood the temple, melting all the unholy invaders in one instance.   Years later, the Deck of Gods would later show up in the possession of the hag Snog Shrogbag, who did not utilize it with the same restraint, wrecking havoc across Vatenrelm with reckless draws. The deck in her possions leaves Caius' final fate unknown.

Personal history

Little is known about Caius history; Born with chaotic powers, likely from a protean somewhere in his lineage, he eventually discovered the Wild Tarot, and took up the mantle of an Auspex, a diviner of Fate. Fate determined that he needed to be in the Rising Dawn Tavern on the day of the Massacre of the Dawn, and thus with the others of the Band on the Run, he was blamed for the deaths of the tavern's residents. Eventually, the group made their way into Capital Welthrone, and uncovered a plot to attack the World Tree itself. Cauis played a crucial roll in defending the World Tree at the Temple of the Divines, utilizing the powerful Deck of Gods to commune with Lys, the god of Commerce. During the deal, he purchased thousands of gold worth of holy water, causing it to flood the church and destroying the spectral daemons that were assaulting the World Tree.
