She fell in love with another Cyko named Emwest, but when Emwests temper got the better of them and they punched a visiting noble, Emwest was then sold to off to the noble as recompense. Akabree, determined to find their lost lover, travelled after them, but was detained upon entering the Svanti Empire and fell into the clutches of slavery themselves.
Eventually mastering her druidic magic enough to escape her master, the Eleyai noble Goybek, Akabree was recruited by Rogrym Vauj into his Slagship Gang, the Chainbreakers.
Akabree would act primarily as a caretaker and runner, treating minor and delivering messages for the gang, but found themselves an adequate racer, despite their aversion to technology. After a few races, the Chainbreakers were given a special mission by Ozren; covertly deliver a technological package from the Collective One to the manor of a noble in the imperial capital of Shos-Yai, an Eleyai known as Amusoren. The gang agreed, but when they got their hands on the package, a person sized box with many technological gizmos. Tarbar, a fellow gang member, realized that it would be used for nothing good. Tarbar stole a power core from the box before it was delivered.
After the delivery, the gang returned to their lodgings, where Akabree unpacked their gear, discovering the power core. Activating it, Amusoren was alerted to the theft, and sent her a message, demanding that it be returned, or that he would personally destroy the gang. Akabree, frightened for her new family, quickly agreed to come back to the manner, and snuck out with the core. Zeep, one of her fellow guildmates, followed her.
Arriving at the manor, Akabree was let inside, where she returned the power core to a bandaged halfling. Hearing some strange noises from the basement, she investigated, and to her horror found an imprisoned Uta Nunpinga and Enim, strapped into another strange machine. Attempting to free them, she was interrupted by Ozren, who stated that she had seen to much and needed to die. Akabree almost escaped the house, but she was struck down by a kinetic blast from Ozren right before Zeep could rescue her, although she was able to pass of a rescued Enim to him.
