Session 47: The Brotherhood of Keraptis Report
General Summary
First up in combat, is Sir Virion Sylvenne! It's 3 am and raining. He drops fucking Fireball atop the Skerrin with a gun, who retaliates in kind with a rifle. The one with the knife takes another stab at Seklyn, and misses, then hits. The wound cuts deep, and stings ten times worse than a bee's sting. Selina then uses Step of the Wind to leap and do a backflip, landing in front of the Skerrin with a gun. She then whips out her hook and line, pulls him towards him, and then hits him with an unarmed strike, failing to stun him, but still dealing lighting damage. Following this, Mystan activates his Duskcrusher as a bonus action. He then casts Sending to Keledek, to notify him about the party being intercepted. Keledek then asks Bubbles if they trust him, and they respond that they really have no choice. Bubbles takes the wizard's hand, and he casts Dimension Door and teleports to a few feet away from Sharkfin Bridge. Sounds of battle can be heard in the distance.
Virion then begins his Bladesong, which is more pure and gorgeous than ever, like a pipe on the wind. He then casts Magic Missile at second level at the Skerrin who has a gun. The Skerrins respond, though - the one with a gun stabs Seklyn twice with a poisoned bayonet! Then, two cloaked pirates come out of the alleyways, and attack Selina and Mystan with rapiers and daggers. Mystan's ribs are broken in a critical hit! Seklyn - badly injured - does Step of the Wind and Wings Unfurled, flying over and picking up Virion to land them safely on a rooftop. She then drops her hook and line and whips out his shortbow, shooting the pirate on Mystan. Selina explains that she doesn't want Virion to die, and that Mystan can make it on his own.
Mystan grins, and rolls his neck. "Alright. Now let's have some real fun." He passes his con save with flying colors, and casts Summon Celestial, as a Large angelic humanoid appears. They are clad head to toe in armor, even on parts of their shimmering draconic wings (Defender). He then follows this up with a command: "Destroy them." Then, the Celestial attacks Skerrin with a radiant mace. And then another. Both hit, and now dagger-Skerrin is bloodied. Keledek and Bubbles teleport again - they can see the fight, but they need another teleport! Bubbles looses an arrow from their longbow, and it goes wide, slaming into wall. They then try again, with the second attack skittering on the ground nearby. Mystan looks, and can see a very tall man - and a tall fish - in the distance to the north.
VIrion, from the rooftop, casts Fireball, centering it just right to hit the enemies but no civilians or Mystan or the Defender. It sets a porch on fire, and drops the first Skerrin, who reverts to the form of a shapeshifter. The other Skerrin bayonet charges, only for their swings to bounce off Mystan's armor pittifully. One of the enemies stabs at Mystan, and the other can't move far enough. Selina then climbs off the building and runs up, and then uses her breath weapon for a lighting line! They all fail, but take pitifully little damage. Seklyn then uses his line and hook to attack Skerrin, pulling him into a goon and stunning him! She spends another ki to make two unarmed strikes against the pirate goon, one he dodges, the other he hits. Selina then moves to flee, and the opportunity attack is missed. Mystan then starts swinging with his magical warhammer, slamming into the pirate with a channel divinity, the force of the sun blasting into him. The Defender then flies over the enemies, flanking them from behind. And then they just fucking annihilate the pirate, and the pirate falls dead. Bubbles and Keledek then teleport into the battle, and Bubbles steps over the dead doppleganger to attack the still-stunned Skerrin with their Wavecutter Blade, hitting twice and leaving Skerrin still somehow standing.
Virion then casts Sleep, confident that his allies are fine. However, the goon has too much HP - and Skerrin seems to be immune! The remaining pirate turns tale and flees, disengages. Selina uses Step of the Wind and Wings Unfurled to fly and dash, uses quickened healing as an action (so much ki), runs, and jumps all to catch up to that fleeing baddie, blocking his escape. And scaring the fuck out of him. Now, Mystan. With Skerrin un-stunned, Mystan just taps him with the copper rung of his Duskcrusher, knocking Skerrin unconcious. Now he is focused entirely on healing Selina, so he runs up and casts Healing Word with the phrase "Don't let him escape!". Bubbles then walks up to right by Mystan, and tosses their Javelin of Lighting at the pirate, hitting them with the aid of Mystan's Channel Divinity. The pirate is still standing, and Bubbles follows up with a second javelin. They then bolster Selina.
Keledek suggests they let him go and just take Skerrin and flee. Virion points out that the two wizards can teleport away with Skerrin and hide the bodies. Keledek teleports away with an unconcious Skerrin. Virion uses a goon's soaked cloak to put out the fire, and Selina takes out the pirate. Between Virion's three Dimension Doors and the celestial, they all make it to the tower. Before Mystan dismisses the angel, he has them use their healing touch to heal Seklyn a little more.
Back at Keledek's tower, everyone gathers inside. Keledek explains to the others the conspiracy. They then brainstorm how to get out in time, talk to Captain Fireborn, etc. They eventually settle on:

- Contact Kiara Shadowbreaker & Delmeriv Adrex to inform them of the brotherhood.
- Depart early with crew and Riptide.
- Keledek holes up with prisoners in Tower of Zenopus, Lumier guides him down to Fungal Grotto
