Interplanetary Teleport Spell in Masters of Illuria | World Anvil

Interplanetary Teleport

In technical terms, the spell acts as a standard teleport enchantment. The difference is the range and how to target a destination. The spell works by the caster folding a tesseract then rotating it to allow the caster to move between - in this case - worlds.   This sounds simple, but in practice, it's a lengthy process. Under normal circumstances, a Technomage would need at least an hour of uninterrupted meditation and a clear focus on the destination. It can't be ambiguous. Indicating a particular planet will allow the enchantment to work. Meditating on just "a habitable planet" will not and could have disastrous results. The more accuracy of the destination, the greater the chance that the spell will succeed.   But there are limitations. The spell can only move the caster - along with a certain amount of people and objects around the caster - to one location. It cannot perform 'simultaneous teleports' to multiple locations at the same time.   Once the caster has completed the teleport, they need to rest for four hours before they can try to cast Interplanetary Teleport once more.   Be warned, if the destination isn't clear, there are stories of casters teleporting directly into a star, shredding themselves to atoms, or simply vanishing never to return.   This spell was used by the Killjoy to enact his "Dead Man's Switch" at the end of the Final War. He was able to perform a simultaneous teleport but only by tapping into dark matter along with the mana during the process of crafting the spell of Interplanetary Teleport.
