Ikroden Species in Masters of Illuria | World Anvil

Ikroden

A proud and ancient race, the ikroden - sometimes called ‘lizard folk’ - tend to congregate in forested, swamps, or watery areas. Resembling a reptile - such as a dragon or crocodile - walking on two legs, their skin is countless interlocking scales of various shapes. The scales are of a uniform color, showing the ancestry or lineage: blue, black, brass, copper and so on.   Over this, stripes or dark patterns grow over time as the ikroden ages. These markings are unique to family bloodlines and are how one ikroden can tell one family lineage from another.   The lizard folk 'crest' or 'hood' is a notable feature. Where, upon losing their temper or being under stress, lizard folk often extend a folded back portion of their head and neck, forming a 'hood'.
