The Banal Uprising is the name given to the period of civil strife that arose across the Kingdom of Ekoya following the assassination of the 'Mage Lord' Karamak by Anya Notryv on 16-10-382. Without the king, the political will to maintain his dream of a land where Hybrids, mages, and other 'products of magic' were accepted and celebrated fell apart and violence between the 'Banal' or non-magic/hybrid population and the 'Aberrants,' the hybrids, mages, and other magically inclined members of the populace.
