Nit
Nit use to perform with a group/acting troupe most of whom died or left the troupe after after the Totentanz. The acting troupe would perform at festivals as well as at markets, taverns, or when on the road. Being one of the survivors she began to travel from place to place and perform music to make money on her own. She has a soft spot for children and when she is not working to make ends meet she is on the lookout for kids that may be runaways or missing. She hopes that one day she can rebuild her performance troupe with some kids or to teach them enough so they can live independently. She has some connections with humans she trusts that are willing to take children in both temporarily or permanently.
Even though she is in her 60's she has some arrested emotional development when it comes to healthy attachment and tends to get overly attached to one individual and begins to caretake. Having insight into her lifelong patterns she tries to focus on performance and entertaining any audience that will have her. She is most comfortable when performing and impressing people with stories and songs. Unfortunately, she can't always help herself when she assumes someone, especially a child, needs saving. Nit has some general paranoia about abduction and enslavement and occasionally projects this onto others, assuming that they also do not feel safe and need her to help them.
Nit enjoys telling stories about coming of age to inspire all creatures to take advantage of the day and learn about themselves. While not a parent herself, she has a lot to say about how to raise someone to be truthful, just, and knowledgeable. She can get preoccupied with childish things because of a fixation on figuring out what makes a “perfect” childhood. Nit believes that words have the power to change people and desires to be a positive figure in the lives of children and adults that may not have had much of a childhood. A believer in rhythm, rhyme, and repetition she comes up with short phrases to leave her audience with at the end of her acts.
Nit wandered into Albenheim believing she was following a runaway child. She wandered in the maddeningly confusing woods until coming to Boar's Pit Keep, where she met Reinhard der Schreiber, and then, his other companions. This group had taken a boy named Alfred , who vaguely matches the description of the boy Nit had been following, from the keep, but he was subsequently stolen back from them by and elf. Nit joined the group in hopes of finding the boy, or at least, finding her way back home.
Physically, Nit has peppered hair, green eyes, and fair skin. She is 5'5" and weighs 170lbs. Nit had a big toe amputated as child which has impacted her balance throughout her life.
