Brother Ernst

I'm a commoner/lower class person who comes from a family of farmers, laborers, craftsmen etc. I learned letters and became a scribe through public teaching from another priest. I never really knew him but heard stories about him growing up. As I grew older I worked as a scribe in Greifstadt. He was taken under the wing of Brother Anselm, who taught him to read and write. He went to the village to become its resident priest before the Totentanz came. At the time, it was regarded as a kind of retirement. There's been no news about that priest for a while. They sent a bunch of soldiers to find out why (and for other reasons), but that didn't work.
After the Totentanz had swept through the land, God reached out to me and tasked me with helping the people of Markwald, and I took my vows and started to perform priestly duties for the folk around town, as well as being a teacher and healer at the order's school and hospital.
