Wehiika
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
Wehiika females lay eggs as part of the reproduction process. they lay about a hundred of eggs each time. Eggs are gathered in chambers with are heated during the process of splicing by the Amalgamant, a nefarious creation of the Serpentfolk . In there, the spores created by the Amalgamant which pass through the porous vicious membrane of the Wehiikas' eggs and proceed into modifying his genetics through an occult process. About a third of the eggs reaches hatching, as the process is rather intense for fetuses and many dies during the splicing process.
Growth Rate & Stages
Wehiika reaches adulthood in about 5 years, which is largely faster than their original ancestors, for that Amalgamant modifies their biology so they can grow on faster rates.
Average age does not above 40 years as their body ages quite fast, as is actually a reason serpentfolks wanted their created species to have just enough for that they can use it for warfare and make their numbers controlled to a varied degree. Most don't reach 10 years however, due to the culture and warmongering the race usually causes regularly with other species.
Ecology and Habitats
Wehiikas favor high humidity and hot water. They also place their tribes nearby abundant sources of meat and proteins they can indulge in since they require a heavy diet due to their fast metabolism. They can also put settlement on land, as they are amphibious, but really prefer to keep those close to a body water to have advantage in.
Civilization and Culture
Average Technological Level
Primitive. Outside of some bronze-age-equivalent curios they kept from their long gone masters, they kept a very simple technological level over the centuries, and are satisfied with their own ability and genetic strength to overcome their lack of additional weaponry, usual keeping only lances and whip-like weapons as secondary options.
Culture and Cultural Heritage
In warfare, wehiikas tend to not go for prisoners unless they are coerced to keep specific ones. Some tribes tried to keep some slaves as spoils of war and 'emergency food' for rougher times, but those captured do not survive long as they may easily be eaten in the upcoming days by one of their captors in a fit of hunger. Such internal strife when wehiikas owning slaves devoured by others made them usually decide to refrain for capture in the future, leaving the prize of the hunt for when it happens.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Wehiikas values the serpentfolks as a group of god's offspring and through said race's propaganda and manipulation through the amalgamnat, made the Wehiikas prone to assist and listen to them in most circumstances, making them useful underlings.
They almost regularly are at odds with any other sapient races as their dietary needs and bloodlust makes them prone to topple any intruders of their 'lands' by unrelenting force.
