Uru'Repo Settlement in Manarchy | World Anvil

Uru'Repo

The spirits have not totally forlorn this place. I can see something faint, but peculiar. As if the stones and mud kept some memories. Memoirs of strive and loss...   Vitalis

Defences

Few physical defenses remains near the ruins after the events leading to its destruction aside from now rotten traps, but some broken but still mildly functioning magical seals remains around the outskirts out of the ruins, mostly to keep small creature and vermin away to avoid future infestations.

History

Long ago, the village was created by the Serpentfolk as part of an expansion process during an expansion campaign. It was to be used as outpost for having a quick access to the swamp's ressources and use their slaves to scout and chart the place. However, due to the high lethality, the expansion remained modest and only kept about 50 permanent residents, which main work was the gathering of primary ressources. Over time, the denizens created mud bricks and others natural ressources to build modest housings to protect them from some natural hazards. However, those were very rudimentary, and health conditions, combined with local insects, proved to be a harsh environment for most.   Having to deal with a pandemic because of the nearby stirges, the chaplain (X) felt forced to teach one of the most promising slaves, (Y), rudiments of magic in order to be able to cover for the care of the colony. This information was kept of course secret as it was a death sequence to share the secret of their races to others, but this measure became a key point in the later rebellion, as Y managed to use those powers to thwart the oppressors during it.
