Siren whistle

Basic Information

Biological Traits

Those variant are rather similar to the common alguae, outside a noticeably different texture at the 'internal' part of the leaf, which have a gradient of a texture that feels like a regular moisturised fleshy scale, like the transition of a merfolk's dual-skin. Coloration hues can also vary based on the type of merflok that inhabit the zone where the plant can be gathered.

Genetics and Reproduction

Siren whistle by created by a meosis system of reproduction, which either have a parent of the same origin, or an alguae-parented half, with tissues like dead skin present on the alguae, usually from siren, as their namesake.

Ecology and Habitats

Siren whistle is usually generated on island or parts of lands usually untouched by civilisation, near the habitant of their namesakes. they are usually found near a patch of land when the currents are at their lowest, and near the water surface at the highest, depending on the time of day.

Additional Information

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Siren whistle are usually mostly by herbalist and enchanters as a common used material for water breathing solutions such as potions and balms. however, using this material tries to emulate the cellular formation of gills that merfolks have as it contains residual essence for merfolk dead cells that were ingested by the alguaes and reached a different form in siren whistles. what makes will transmute the user to 'breath' underwater, but also allows the amphibious species to process air as well. however, the facsimile form is not optimal and uses of their natural breathing may be recommended depending on the recipient (which means landwellers may need to consume regular air during the total donation). The potion or balm also reduces efficiency near the end of its effect, which usually alerts the user with increasingly more difficulty breathing, but allowing for at least a handful of minutes to adapt accordingly

Fascinating that it works both ways and excellent that you have a little bit of warning before it wears off!
