The Tall figure started to make cracking sounds, as it it was a statue coming to life. It was covered in white and gold, and holding a large staff which headwas ornated with a large angular blade, that didn't seemed to be of any common weaponry. The being was giving a soulless stare, but his left eyesocket was having something, as if some heat wave or ghotly presence was nearby it. The tall and desecrated serpentfolk seemed to be circling around me, with the patience of a predator, waiting for me to make a mistake.

Qualifications

As there is only one, no more, no less, the successor is actually carved by a written agreement of the current leader in a profane stone, which is painted by the current Hieroschemamonk's blood. Those are usually reserved to the most powerful and skillful of the Stavrophore.

Appointment

After the death of the current Hieroschemamonk, the deemed successor will undergo a sacrificial ritual where they will sacrifice an eye, activate the profane curse, which will return the former leader's blood signature to liquid, and pour the blood in it's eyesocket. This ritual will give them an immaterial phantom eye, which will give them the power of the founder, to see any anomalies and weak physical section of a creature's body. This makes for submission and assassination attempts better. It is also gonna affect the Hieroschemamonk themselves, as they could be able to see a weak point which should cause their own device, unless it's somewhere they could not see with a regular vision , such as the back of their neck.

Money was also a common thing, but since the King could have the things money would buy, this was rarely part of the direct benefits to save the mercantile process.
