Animas Species in Manarchy | World Anvil

Animas

Basic Information

Anatomy

Animas are extremely varied in shape and bodies because of their chaotic nature. However, it is common that most of them hold an animalistic or humanoid shape depending on what they were made of, since humanoid tend to create inanimate objects to ressemble them. This can include statues, scarecrows, totems, masks, funerary tomb covers, or even mundane objects like the teru teru bozu

Genetics and Reproduction

Animas have no way to reproduce sexually or asexually. However, a strong anima can use some of his energy nearby zones of chaotic mana to create lesser spawns under it's control.

Growth Rate & Stages

None

Dietary Needs and Habits

Animas consume residues of mana used nearby them. If they become starved, they go into dormancy until conditions are met.

Biological Cycle

Animas are only affected by the passing of time or season if their host body could be. Despite the fact they can safeguard their body with abjuration magic, most aren't totally protected from the passage of time or temperature. This can lead to severed, rotting or crumbling animas if the conditions are met.

Additional Information

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Animas , even while destroyed, can leave mana phlegm which can be salvaged. This extremely unstable component can serve in various catalysts for magic users which arent afraid how volatile the component is.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Most animas make use of an eldritch magical way to detect life(and unlife) since their host body isn't a functioning one biologically, contrary to undead. The average revolves around a 60-feet aura they can detect.

However, their senses reach improves if a really strong use of magic is used, be it by a spellcaster or a more fixated source, such as a consecrated shrine.
