Phaloxil
The major northern port on the Ocean of Aber. Phaloxil is a large republic city-state surrounded by many villages and towns that claim it as their own. Phaloxil is the last vestige of the Aloxian Empire that is rising again. Home to a large standing army composed primarily of infantry, the city grants out land, buildings, and other rewards to those who serve in its military for a decade. All rewards are returned to the state after fifty years of use granting the shorter lived races the property for the majority of the adult lifespan while requiring longer lived races to serve for a longer period. The same land or buildings may be earned in succession by a family (either by a single member serving consecutive terms or by multiple generations serving for the same property) to create a Lineage Property. Lineage Properties have been taken advantage of by Orchard elves and many of the families have earned their properties for the patrons lifespan and possibly the next generation or two and no longer serve in the military.
The port contains large galleys meant for transporting bulk shipments of products up and down the coast to smaller towns or for moving the infantry great distances. Phaloxil is the primary political figure in most attempts to civilize (and utilize) the east. They have established a highway along the north side of The Everstorm Sea called the Colonial Highway. Branching off of it is the Cobblestone Serpent: a smaller winding roadway and series of irrigation systems to enhance the arability of the land. The primary means for paying for this infrastructure is a passage tax in the Nerm Warren Channel. Phaloxil has established a blockade across the channel and a ferry between Fort Weston and Fort Esmir on either end of the blockade.

Districts
Phaloxil is much more of a congregation of small towns around a large town than it is a single city. While most of the orchards remain outside of the “cities”, there are a few small ones inside as well as stretches of arable land and local farmers. The hodgepodge of urban and rural within the townships cause natural segregation of everything from slight racial disparities to the circle of influence for lords and the criminal realm.
While much more can and will be said about the different townships of Phaloxil, we will start with the bare basics.
Vecchia: Ancient district, winding roads, old stone buildings taking up most of the space.
Nuova: Much newer, stone mixed with timber homes, better planned out, more gridded than most other districts
Midbrid: A large wooden platform spanning the Ombul River Delta that has the upper level that mashes new cramped neighborhoods between Nuova and Vecchia. Also has a lower level of raft communities and bridges through the delta weaving around the support beams for above
Gusede: Full military compound, walled, army and navy training, courts, judges.
Temlibe: Rich community, people with old money, surrounded by more hunting grounds, leisure areas, tennis/badmitton type courts and the like.
Velfano: Majority of military earned property, Fishing is the staple of the community for home and trade to the rest of Phaloxil.
Culfano: Majority of military earned property, Agriculture is the staple of the community for home and trade to the rest of Phaloxil.
Allefano: Majority of military earned property, Ranching is the staple of the community for home and trade to the rest of Phaloxil.
Conncuil: Orchard Elf/High Elf elf private community. Lucious orchards and Vineyards. Thinks of itself as completely separate from Phaloxil politically and kind of is. The Elves earned the land and made the district on their own. Design in architecture and lay out completely different than the rest of Phaloxil

Points of interest
The Chroniker
Centered within the common greens among the district resides a tall mage tower made of stone upon a small rocky mount. The Chroniker is the tower of Atrigor, the Dominus Porta. The door to the tower construct's itself, twisting through the bricks, at Atrigor's demand. Additionally, the top third of the tower has a secondary second turret suspended off of it by a small bridge. To the marvel of the common folk, this secondary tower is not stationary but will in fact swivel around the tower though doing so is rare. The turret is only adjust when the Dominus Porta is at work and it rapid moves to it's new position, staying there until a new rotational position is needed. The mage tower serves more than a home for the archmage. The combination of the township placements and the curve of the Ombul River flowing around the open green forms a minor peninsula about the tower. Ringing around 90% of the tower's greens are seventeen standing stones. The shadow that the Chroniker casts across these stone is used as a sundial to track the time of day that operates unerringly.Starsight Planetarium
The Starsight Planetarium is a temple to Selune, The Moon Maiden within Phaloxil. The temple resides outside of any of the districts upon a narrow peninsula separating the bay from the Ocean of Aber. The temple to Selune is prominent within Phaloxil due to the vast amount of travelling done by the fisherman, merchants, and military. While the Starsight Planetarium is separate from the the politics of the city, it does have close ties the archmage Vulpenop.Maps
