Old Gods, Aspects, and Paragons

The Old Gods The world is a wide and varied place with many peoples. While some deities cross political and cultural lines, many do not. With many pantheons existing, some scholars believe that a world created and ruled by so many would not last long. It is theorized that only a small group of dieties were responsible for the initial crafting of the world and the beginning of mortal life. These deities were Elgonga, Gaosh, Jais, Lune, Malg, Sol, Thelbissy, and Vistul.   Aspects Each provided virtues of themselves into the world to help shape it. What they did not expect was that their creations would shape them back. As peoples spread and grew, they diversified. In this diversity they found different aspects of the Old Gods more and less important. In specialized praise, the Old gods fractured. Each of the original deities fell away from the world as different Aspects of themselves began to be empowered and hold sway. Most of these Aspects were of benefit to the world. Others were darkened by mortals twisted by cruelty, malice, and profaned by the influence of the Lower Planes.   Paragons Paragons represent a special classification of new god. Some believe them to be Aspects of Elgonga while others believe them to be ascended mortals. Either way, Paragons represent the pinnacle of a species. Many cultures that are dominated by a specific Folk will have entire churches centered on the virtues and mythologies around their Paragon god.
