The city is a crossroads for trade for Bayan Tansag, located on the Khünd River. They are the central trade city between themselves, Olon Uuloin OranGoloin GazarKhavtgay Gazar, and Us Namgarkhag Gazar. As they are the food capital of the Khünd Ajil and thus have become a key city for trade, with major roadways reaching out to the surrounding states. Raw resources are imported and food is shipped out. This has created a bustling artisan community in the city. Tanners, furniture-making, pottery, coopers, hatters, furriers, tailors, saddlers, ropemakers, weavers, and wheelwrights are the most prominent artisan groups in the city, while metalworking is less common, but still present. This is due to their large imports of wood, leather, and other animal products.    They do not quite have a cultural identity yet and are a mix of various styles and goods. The bustling scene has not yet created real distinction, prominence, nor prestige. This has not prevented the city from exporting goods for middle-class to upper-middle-class buyers.   The city has extensive warehouses and grain storage on the river. The buildings need special infrastructure to ensure temperature fluctuations do not damage goods, as the temperatures can fluctuate drastically from summer to winter. Water is heated in boilers and run underneath certain buildings to prevent freezing.    The city is politically stable, and has few conflicts outside of some minor gangs on the outskirts taking advantage of the poor and refugees from various conflicts or famines. The main discontent comes from the outskirts, but the rulers pay little heed as they contribute little economically. Due to the rapid growth the main goal of the city is to become more centralized. For a long time they had a laissez-faire approach to growth, and allowed people to build largely as they wished. This has created an unorganized mish-mash of buildings and streets that have started to make trade by road more complicated than is needed. This also means infrastructure is lagging, sewage is minimal, water is uneven, and buildings collapsing or catching fire are not rare.    The core buildings of the wealthier classes are made of red mud and are generally few stories, if there is even more than one. They are long and open with a square outside with a rounded roof and rounded supports on the outside. The doorways have large decorative features surrounding them, painted or carved to indicate the wealth of the owner.   The slums are made of mud and thatch as well but in a haphazard manner. Additions are frequent and often unsafe.

Demographics

The city is a hair less than three quarters Khünd Ajil, and the remaining are settled merchants, skilled artisans, and helpers for the Khünd population of the city. The lower classes are abundant on the outside, but the core of well-off merchants and artisans in the core of the city are proportionally higher than the average Khünd city.

Government

The Darga, Manghud has some autonomy in infrastructure, and design. The Bayan Tansag government has control over trade and military matters and control the local garrison. The mayor was assigned by Talabuga and directly answers to him. He is considered an important and trusted advisor and is thoroughly loyal thanks to his position being gifted.

Defences

A large garrison is kept here, but the defences are rather dated due to the recent boom in population. The once effective walls have become useless as the city has extended well beyond the walls. The core of the city is still protected, but the city could be devastated economically if an attack were to happen. A field battle would be the best hope as an extended siege would not be kind to them.

Infrastructure

The road system is well-maintained, and bridges and ports are always taken care of. Where things get murky are on the outskirts of the city where slums have encroached onto major roadways, causing issues with traffic. The city has not built up much due to infrastructure and species limitations, and thus has created urban sprawl. This is little worry for the Khünd, as they are quick travellers, but this has made it difficult for some of the many smaller species living in the city. There are many large open squares that function as meeting places and open-air markets
