Personal history

Salko grew up in a small, mostly conservative town near the captial of the peaceful Kargar empire. Her village, together with many others, considered magic to be something sacrilegic if not outright demonic, as this was most people's mentality towards magic a long time ago, when mages vere few and far between.

Her parents wanted her to travel to the capital and become a royal guard, as her mother and grandmother had done. Because of this, Salko was trained in various martial arts and weapons from a young age.

Salko however always wanted to become a mage, spending a lot of her free time in the local library and travelling as far as her parents would allow her in search of new knowledge. Eventually she caught the eye of Archmage Mocha, who decided to take Salko in as their apprentice.

Salko tried to convince her parents to let her go to the capital to continue her studies under Mocha, but to no avail. Eventually Salko decided to leave on her own, with or without her parents' premission. Upon hearing this, her father relented and agreed to let her travel to the capital, as long as she visit them at least twice a year, for the summer and winter solstices.

Overjoyed, Salko left for the capital the next day. On the road she met a travelling merchant, who she became quick friends with. Fate would eventually bring the two back together.
