All the pride and happiness we had was suddenly taken away. For someone who had lived centuries of life, this was the single most devastating loss for the morale of our people. It was the beginning of the end.

While travelling to some of the small Elven outposts that had begun to spring up around the main cities, Lynnara's entourage for her ambassadorial duties was attacked by what looked to be dark elves. Lynnara was killed in the attack, her body sent back to the city sporting vicious wounds characteristic of the scimitars commonly used by the drow in their training exercises.   Unbeknownst to the elves, this attack had been perpetrated by agents of Lolth. Her yochlols, disguised in their dark elven forms, had beset Lynnara's carriage, leaving enough witnesses alive for news of the betrayal to spread.
