A new power enters the world.

Elves by their very nature are curious beings. Long lived, and prone to the boredom that can come of it, some elves choose to dig into things that may be better left alone.   So it was with Dremolar Nhilithan, a older dark elf with visions of grandeur. His belief that the current monarchy was doomed to fail, he sought a way to save his people for the cataclysm that was in his mind, inevitable. Delving into magics forgotten by most of the rest of his people, he sought a pact with one of the gods that was lost in the flight from their previous world, hoping to gain the power to protect those he wanted dominion over.   Making a deal with the goddess, Lolth, his ritual began to siphon off some of her power and in the end helped re-found the Cult of the Spider Queen. This action had the exact effect Lolth was hoping for, and put a tiny crack into the barrier blocking the denizens of the previous world from gaining entry into this new haven.   Lolth, partially freed from her previously destroyed world, set about her new work with a fiendish vigor, whispering of power to her quickly growing group of followers. Erevan Ilesere, the current chosen deity of the dark elves, slowly began to feel his power slipping away, however was not able to pin down the source of this problem.
