The Rainbow Rogue Mural

The Rainbow Rogue Mural is a large painting on the outside wall of city hall in Dugafjord. It is a dedication to the founder and first great hero of the town.

Description

The mural takes up the entire wall and faces a small, public flower garden and park. The wall was painted entirely black with white lines making up the profile silhouette of a young woman wearing a hood. From the hood, streaks of color are painted in long, windswept hair. The colors are that of a rainbow, covering the entire spectrum from violet to red. There are a few feathers around as well at the base of the wall and seem to follow the same windswept pattern of the woman's hair.

History

When the people of Two Ports thought to expand, they were guided by the unexpected appearance of a young, half-elven woman. Dressed completely in black, with strands of multicolored hair sticking out of her drawn hood, she was quite striking and exuded some sort of strength that made them feel safe. Leading the settlers that ventured out to a freshwater river, she rarely spoke as they followed and began setting up. Although she disappeared fairly quickly after they arrived at their destination, whenever they were set upon by monsters or raiders, she would always appear again, silently removing any threat before disappearing again.
Solidifying her place as the burgeoning city's guardian angel, the woman known only as the Rainbow Rogue reappeared again when the red dragon Hepherose attacked in search of riches. Threatening to destroy the city and all the land around it, he was held off by the Rainbow Rogue alone, driving him back to his home. While she didn't slay the dragon, whatever happened during that fight has kept the Ashen Tyrant at bay, too afraid to return despite the close vicinity.
The original painting was done in the middle of the night by an unknown artist, but the townspeople admired both the work and the person it was dedicated to that it became considered a local monument. It is professionally touched up from time to time, but otherwise it is under protection of city law to remain undisturbed.
