The Amber Plains is a region of the eastern continent known for its reddish-gold tall grasses. It is a an unforgiving land that is home to several dangerous monsters.
Description
The Amber Plains is an arid region of the world that still manages to grow thick, tall grass in a larger area of the land. Besides the grassland, the ground itself is red and cracked beyond that. There is a variety of wildlife that is capable of surviving off of little water and managing the heat. Some of these creatures are extremely dangerous, making it nearly impossible to travel across the land. Many settlers and adventurers have lost their lives trying to cross the plains.
Monsters
There are several dangerous creatures that live in the Amber Plains. Various breeds of drakes roam freely across the land and prey on all manner of creatures, including things larger than them. There are occassional reports of purple worms from the few survivors of the area as well. The most dangerous though is the helldrakes in the area. They are aggressive and descibed as vindictive by those that manage to survive an encounter with them.
History
As one of the most dangerous places on land in Malgrave, the area has always been shrouded in mystery. It was discovered late in the Age of Intelligence by sailors that happened upon it after getting shipwrecked west of the area. As the first sign of vegetation, they assumed there would be drinkable water in the area. Instead they only found a hostile environment and dangerous predators. There is still an active bounty open to explorers, adventurers and cartographers to go and discover what the land may hold and what causes the unusual color in the grass. Many have tried, with the number of attempts getting less and less frequent as the number of missing people rises.
