Ymmari (yih-MAH-ree)

The Ymmari are a dragonborn race that took control from the dragons at the end of the The Era of the Elders. For over 1000 years the Ymmari reigned supreme on the continent of Grand Ymmarion. Under their rulership they aggregated, appropriated, and disseminated the knowledge of the other humanoid, demi-human, and human races. Although this led to incredible magical, scientific, and artistic advances on the continent, it was very often at the cost of the lives and humanity (so to speak) of those whom fell under the Ymmari subjugation.
Their tyranny would eventually prove to be their downfall, causing a continent wide revolt known as the The Grand Uprising.
The fall of the Ymmari Empire

was not the end of the species, and they would go on to play other crucial roles in Grand Ymmarion's history. In modern times, stigma and prejudice surrounding them is still high and most Ymmari enclaves stay removed from areas populated by other races. Those brave enough to deal with non-dragonborn often disguise themselves to avoid altercations.
