Vexerrigen
the Black (a.k.a. "the Dread Ymmari", "the Curse Undying")
Vexerrigen is a Ymmari Dragonborn paladin who lived during the second half of The Clash of Scions. A gifted tactician and a dominant force on the battlefield, Vexerrigen led many successful actions for the armies of West Ymmaria before he was overcome by his lust for power. Legend says that Vexerrigen made a pact with an unholy force from the Abyss, exchanging service in the afterlife for power on the material plane. As it is with many of these deals, Vexerrigen was deceived, and was corrupted into an undead horror. His castle, lands, and considerable army also fell under the sway of this corruption, overwhelming the southern Ymmari Isthmus and forever turning it into the
Blightlands.
Although he has not been seen for many centuries, it is widely accepted that Vexerrigen still reigns from his throne room atop the
Accursed Spire. His presence is felt throughout his cursed realm, a land replete with undead horrors and nightmares.
