Tarquin Von HughGraven is the son of former Duke of Trinsk, Herkemer Von HughGraven. Tarquin is tall and dashing with sparkling blue eyes and a finely trimmed black goatee and mustache. He is an accomplished wizard and a student of the archmage of Volinsk, Amasis Zorin.
He is well loved by the people of Trinsk and Kladinsk. On the outside he lives his life with a chivalrous flair but inside he prizes knowledge of the arcane arts and the power he can gain gain through their use above all else. As a boy, Duke Herkemer Von HughGraven saw that his son did not take after his own robust natures and sent him to Kladinsk to train in the magical arts. Tarquin is a few years younger than his cousin Manfred Von HughGraven and always looked up to Manfred as a child.
