Ring
The Ring is one of the most successful businesses in Bariadan. This tavern/inn derives its name from the large bare-knuckle boxing ring in the center of the common room which is the sight of many scheduled bouts (and spontaneous brawls). The weekend fights are always a big draw, with large paydays going to the house. Also attracting the curious to the inn is the “Mermaid of Bariadan” an actual living, breathing mermaid - a rare sight indeed for a city as land-locked as Bariadan. She was brought to the city some years ago by the tavern’s old owner, Jiles Garth, as a way of creating more prestige for his tavern and, in his own words, “sexy-n’ the place up a bit”. On some levels it has been a rousing success, attracting all manner of inquisitive peoples to see her trapped within her magical tank. The mermaid herself, however, is quite unhappy and looks more than a little haggard these days.
Keeping the bar running for many years now is the keen eyed, shrewd dealing Evelyn Profit.
Alterations
The Ring has a large boxing ring in the middle of its common room.
Tourism
Once a week, the Rings sanctioned events bring in a steady stream of customers. It is not uncommon for fighters to make a circuit between Bariadan, Swampman's Dyke, and Telak-Arrosh.
