Old Toby Tobacconist & Farm
The PCs established contact with Old Toby after purchasing goods from him. They mentioned that they would like to start a trade route to Volinsk, which Toby thought was probably impossible having had talks with Edgar Whitetallow earlier and reckoning that the Plains of Despair are too dangerous. Nevertheless, the PCs made a good impression and Old Toby said he would be willing to talk with them later. He made arrangements and will send for them by leaving a message at the Sleeping Babe Inn.
Lying at the northwest outskirts of Rooktown proper, Old Toby’s specializes in tobacco, halfling pipe weed, Breath of Hysterion, and other smokeable herbs. The fields outside Toby’s are sectioned and filled with various strains of pipe weed, the scent of which intermingles to give the area a pleasant pungency. The inside of this hobbit hole is built like a cozily outfitted and accommodating (even to bigger folk) walk in humidor where each breath within tastes of deep cedar. Different rooms within sell a number of smoking accoutrements, as well as a line of finely tailored smoking jackets.
Old Toby Stickynugs is the Halfling owner and proprietor and is more than happy to find the right pipeweed for paying customers. It’s an important distinction. Over the years Toby has had to keep a close eye on the product out in his fields. It is watched over by his son Dank, and his female half elf friend Indica. Dank and Indica have a team of mastiffs that watch over the crops and keep them safe from Halfling hooligans who would try and boggart his sweet leaf.
Architecture
Although it is built in the classic "Hobbit Hole" fashion, the dimensions of Old Toby's Tobacconist are accommodating to bigger folk.
Tourism
Old Toby's is perhaps the most popular place in Rooktown for visitors.
