Malfesto

Malfesto is the god of “black” magic, magic intended to harm. He is the master of dark sorcery and necromancy. His worshippers are almost invariably evil mages, and it is said that Malfesto taught Dagrazt the Arcane Arts. He was once depicted as a neutral god, one who also taught the new races of magic, until his fall. Legend has it that one day long ago, Narsheen, who had assumed a pleasant form, came upon Malfesto. She seduced him, and gave him false promises of power. Malfesto succumbed, and went with Narsheen to fell places. He was then thoroughly broken down and forever twisted. He became evil and renounced his ties with the good and neutral gods. To this day, however, he hates Narsheen. Endlessly Malfesto works to thwart her despotic dreams. Indeed of all the gods and goddesses of the pantheon, Malfesto most often gives aid to his truly devout followers, especially if their plans involve some sort of attack on Narsheen or her flock.   True followers of Malfesto wear medallions with his sigil, a star crossed “M”. Since almost all of his followers are mages, the medallions themselves are often imbued with magical energies and powers.   Like Empterion , Malfesto’s holy days are tied with the cycles of the moon; the most important of these being nights of a waning crescent.   Malfesto’s followers often read from his book, Black Rites, in concordance with their own arcane study. An additional text, The Spell of Malfesto is a collection of arcane spells only available to worshippers of the god of Black Magic.
