"Baba" Maataikaa is a tribal elder of the Mysati people on the island of Ysfor , revered for her wisdom and sagacity. Although small of frame for a Mysati, she nevertheless possesses her peoples trademark strength and endurance, with wiry arms and flint in her soul.
Maataikaa believes that the island of Ysfor is in decline and that the Mysati people themselves are slowly withering away. She has charged two of her bravest tribal members, Aatavi and Haatiri with exploring the vastlands to find ways to save the island or discover a new home for their people.
