Iulia's Gate

One of the masterworks of famed Volinaksian architect Heinrich Gustal, Iulia's Gate secures Iulia's Pass, the main mountain pass through The Great Western Mountains in Volinsk.  It straddles the border between the duchies of Turnberg and Thragaphest but falls under the jurisdiction of the Silver Circle.
The gate itself is a mechanical marvel and features two 50 foot tall guardtowers with a fortified bridge that spans their battlements, a great oaken and metal reinforced door, and stone barracks and guard posts built into the cliffsides to support.
Intricate clockwork mechanisms open the gate, and enable the battlement bridge to twist apart for larger egress.
