Fastaran

Fastaran is the capital of Khand. Built into the cliff walls and high mountain plateaus, it is a marvel of stonecraft and masonry.
During the War Against the Darkness Fastaran was overtaken by the forces of Dagrazt. During the occupation they proceeded to destroy and burn down everything that they could. While this resulted in the death of tens of thousands of Fastaran's population, the bones of the city (as they are carved from the stone) remained very much intact. For this reason, Fastaran has rebuilt itself with incredible speed. When discussing the miraculous rebound the city has made, a common Khandii saying has come to be: "Fastaran forgets, but its people never will".
Fastaran's Royal Family was killed during the occupation and the country has since come under the rule of King Saheed the Adamant.

Defences

The stone walls, tunnels, overlooks, and passages of the Fastaran, built within and atop the mountainous plateaus of the Blackshield Peaks make it an incredibly defensible city. Unfortunately this was not enough to stem the horde of orcs and giants pouring from the Land of Dagrazt.

Industry & Trade

Fastaran is beginning to get its footing again, and is reinitiating trade with both Volinsk and Earthhome

Architecture

The masons of Fastaran are said to be the most skilled human stonecrafters in the world. Coupled with the skills of the dwarves who have made their home in the stone city, Fastaran is truly a marvel.
