Dathar-Kane

Dathar-Kane is the patron of Druids and Rangers and the god of the wilderness. He is the protector of the sacred places of nature, such as high alpine passes and virgin lowland forests. He looks to his servants to keep natural places sacred to him, and he cares about little else save his wife, Silph-Mallene. Dathar-Kane has a healthy respect for elves, as they are knowledgeable about the wild, but he has little concern, bordering on disdain for the earth dwelling dwarves and gnomes. He is often depicted as a cowled figure in dark, earthy clothing with a quiet, brooding presence. Underneath his hood he bears a weathered face the color and texture of petrified wood, with stunning emerald green eyes. Dathar-Kane is said to rarely speak above a whisper, but when the time arises his voice is deep and commanding.   Other symbols of Dathar-Kane include the bow and arrow, and the leaf. Many followers of this god are known to carry small leather “medicine bags” around their neck, containing small amounts of dried leaves and plant matter. His colors are those of the wild: grey, green and brown.   Dathar-Kane has no known holy text. Those who follow him rely on their first hand knowledge and experience of the wild to show their devotion.
