Elector
The Electors serve as the advisory council for the Emperor of Coritha and also have the power to nominate and choose the next man or woman to take their place. As an Elector one also has the power to oppose any imperial decree that has an effect outside the provinces of Coritha and Thutmose by calling the council to hold a vote. In IR 1209 the Council of Electors became the replacement for the Senate at the end of the Season of Strife.
Appointment
The ruler of each province in the empire and the Canon of the church have the right to act as Electors or to appoint one to represent them. If an Elector is a candidate for the Imperial Throne the nobility of their province picks a replacement through an election of their own.
Responsibilities
Electors are responsible for helping to administer and create the laws and edicts of the Corithan Empire.
Benefits
Electors have the power to select the emperor and with enough support remove one from their post, no Imperial decree or law can effect the whole empire without the consent of the majority. They also are usually the rulers of an Imperial Province with all the privileges and power it entails.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
The position of Elector is a position held as long as one rules sovereign over their lands or serves it at their benefactor's pleasure.
