The Common Language

The primary spoken language of the "civilized" peoples is known as Common.
Common was originally developed before travel through the portal and was a standardisation of the pidgin languages developed to facilitate communication in the three main cities of that future.
In the settlement of Thurid, Common was the official language and all records were made in it. Following the collapse of that city, Common remained as the unifying language of all descendants of the future peoples though local dialects and derivative languages have developed within the various nations and ancestry languages have resurged in less diverse cities.
