Pitax
Pitax is a tiny nation bordering the stolen lands, near Brevoy and Gaucia. Ruled by Castruccio Irovetti, who considers himself the greatest patron of the arts, Pitax (the capital city) is filled with all sorts of art and sculpture. Importing the matierials for his artists, marble and gold for sculptures, expensive ink and dyes and the highest quality canvas and parchment, Irovetti has little left in his treasury to maintain the infrastructure of a city, let alone a small nation.
Peasants are taxed harshly to support Irovetti's obsessions and many end up in indentured servatude when they fail to meet their tax collector's fees.
Irovetti's currently favoured artists have their every whim met. Those that fail to meet his expectations, and few do for long, are forced to continue their works in slavery.
Pitax is known for the Academy of the Arts, a grand institution teaching every form of artistry. Proving ones skills at the academy is a vaunted opportunity to ascend for the otherwise struggling lower class.
