Copper

Copper is the most common material used in the waters of Maerl. It is occasionally found as Native metals but is mostly refined from the blue-green ores.

Material Characteristics

Copper is a material that may be refined from ore by hammering and may be shaped the same way. While it will take an edge, it is relatively soft and tends to bend out of shape unless magically strengthened.

The use underwater means that few bludgeoning weapons are manufactured from this metal (bronze is favoured on land) but it's soft nature means it is widely used for various uses. It is relatively commonly available

Copper is heavily associated with the Water Rune

Copper is able to take a good polish and is often available for use as a mirror
