My feelings
When we woke up, the human army had a ritual going on to honor their fallen comrades. That fucking dragon didn’t even allow us something like that.. it buried our friends under a freaking tower. All we could do was leave two wooden crosses atop the ruins, but they deserve so much more! When we free this island, I will make sure they will get the honour they deserve. Well, Cap probably wouldn’t care but I guess Tiny will laugh his guts out once he gets to see the statue I will build for them. We have the money after all and I’m pretty sure Mini and Lucky will get us a good price…
Talking about Mini. One could see that she was also shaken by the ritual, but once again I couldn’t find the right words. Why the hell am I so bad with words? But even if I can’t say something good I can make her enjoy the rest of our journey.
Lucky on the contrary seems so cold from the outside, but I am sure the deaths of our friends affected him too and maybe just like me he doesn’t really know how to deal with those feelings…
Our newly formed group hasn’t really grown together. On the contrary, as I am writing this we are split because Shirel tried to protect us from that dragon and in the process we lost all our belongings from the bag of holding. Mini couldn’t stand it anymore and she just left. I told Lucky to go with the others since they won’t get lost with Gwen on their side and that I will bring Mini back. I never thought I would turn that stubborn Halfling around, and the situation almost escalated. But finally I managed to find the right words. I feel really comfortable around Mini right now and I am pretty sure that things will turn arround for the better. I will bring you back to our group and if anything bad happens, I will go away with you, just the two of us, just as promised Mini.
Our adventure
We saw Firebeard again and man I love that man's ship. But since we were heading into the jungle to the mines, we couldn’t count on Firebeard, since he didn’t have a ship small enough to take us up the river. Lucky and Mini managed to get us a ship for a good price and we made Yelena our helmswoman, that girl needs to work if she wants to get paid. Being on that river we tried to fish, but that’s apparently not one of our group's strong points. Well maybe for the better, I can still taste the fish from Firebeards ship.
At some point, we continued by foot and Mini and I found a small waterfall. That was the perfect moment to make her smile again. So I told her that normally there should be a hidden cave behind a waterfall. Long story short, there was no cave but I told Mini that me standing under the waterfall must be just like Cap used to train as a monk. It was nice to finally see her smile again.
When it became dark I proposed that we do our guard duty in pairs, one member of the Wolves and one of the newcomers. I hope we get to know each other better that way. Mini asked if she now needed to sleep with Gwen too? I mean it’s guard duty, not a sleepover. I really don’t get her from time to time.
Lucky ended up with Yelena but kinda seemed disappointed in the morning.
Mini was doing guard duty with Shirel and now she won’t stop talking about his tail and that he can do incredible things with it. I don’t have any idea what she could possibly mean, but the way she says it, it must be some amazing trick. I guess Shirel won’t show it to me any time soon since he always blushes when I ask him about it.
Gwen was with me on guard duty. We had some nice talking going on but sadly she didn’t want to let me try out her boots. But she really is nicer than she wants the world to know.
To arrive at the mines we had to choose between the long and boring way or a shortcut, where dinosaurs might surprise us. I wasn’t really sure which way to go. Cap would have chosen the long and safer (but mostly boring) way. But I would love to see some dinosaurs again, and maybe ride on one together with Mini. Lucky told me in a harsh way, that a captain needs to be able to make decisions. And he was right! I should not forget Cap but also try to do this my way. So we took the shortcut.
Of course, there were some small dinosaurs trying to ambush us, but Shirel chased them away with a spell where he copied the big dinosaur's (the one Yelena stole the kill from me) scream. So much for riding dinosaurs.. but Shirel is so cool. I wonder if he likes going to the theater too?
We arrived at some tower ruins, that didn’t really look like the one we visited with Cap and Tiny by our side. There was already a guy at the tower. He approached as with a friendly wink, but Lucky and I didn’t really trust that wink so we went around and hid away. That was a good choice because not long after that we were ambushed by some other fellows and a big snake with arms and a bow.
Just when the fight started Yelena decided to take a walk, no idea what went into her, but at least I would get some kills right? That big snake tried to strangle me, and with all my might I shouted at Lucky that this one was mine and he should concentrate on the small fry, but then out of nowhere Mini stole my kill. Can you believe that Tiny? You would have been so proud of her. In its final moments that snake whispered that Sethis will avenge her, well whoever that might be let him come.
After the fight, I was standing next to a trapdoor. Shirel informed us, that he found out by mindreading, that there might still be others. So I took one of those firebombs from the bag of holding an threw it inside. I’m still not sure if I did this because I don’t want my friends to be ambushed again or simply because that might give me a kill. I mean Lucky almost killed all of us with one of those.
Inside the cave that black acid-spitting lizard awaited us. Shirel and Yelena were handling the situation somehow and after seeing me using that bomb, Shirel asked me to lend him the bag of holding. I hesitated at first but I trusted him to do the right thing. As they were handling the side with the portal, where that dragon was hiding, I followed Mini on a little side quest. It was so fun doing irresponsible things with her once again. I mean the traps burned us pretty bad but we had fun. No loot but fun. Irresponsible fun, like we used to have (sorry Cap I know you’re shaking your head somewhere).
After our successful escape, Mini made Shirel responsible for destroying our precious belongings. There was a lot of shouting and Mini just went away, not wanting to travel with us anymore. Shirel when we meet again I will apologize to you. You’re not responsible. You just tried to protect your friends, and there is definitely nothing wrong with that. I am at fault. I as the captain should have gotten us out of there as soon as the black dragon appeared.
I managed to quickly catch up with Mini. At first, I tried to be reasonable, then I tried shouting at Mini and since she wanted to run away I tried to take Tiny’s dinosaur tooth away from her. Guess I am lucky she didn’t cut my throat at that pitiful moment. Tears were building up in her eyes and that’s when I told her, that I will go with her anywhere she wants. But that I wanted to finish this mission, because it’s the last mission we started with Cap and Tiny, that we have to do it for them. And once this is finished, and we don’t get along with the new guys I will break bonds with the Wolves and start a new life with her on my side. At those words, she calmed down. We're resting now and tomorrow, once we wake up everything will be better, I know it.
