Asgaard

Asgaard was one of the original colonies during the human expansion era. It was colonized largely by indians, norwegians, sudanese, and italians. The planet didn't offer the resources to export to become an economic powerhouse, the people had to settle for a more agrarian, homesteading culture. At one point the pre-colonization planet was promised to the Ordel Federation, but after violent first contact between humans and ordel the Conglomerate rescinded their colony manifests. When humans joined the Conglomerate the planets in the area were gifted to them for colonization. Asgaard was one of the planets initially destined for Kwachebl, and it became a major point of contention between the Commonwealth, Conglomerate, and Federation. In 2151 ships from the Order of the Iron Moons jumped into Asgaard's atmosphere and bombed the surface, destroying most major metropolitan areas and killing hundreds of thousands.

Geography

Asgaard is one large landmass with 2 large seas on it and many other smaller lakes. Rainy grasslands on rolling hills cover the equatorial belt of the colony. Forste Skritt, where humans first landed and what became the largest city, is a large valley north of the sea. The valley reaches to the coast and has a river flowing by to the north. Deserts start at 40 degrees north and south. At 80 degrees north and south the polar ice caps begin.

Fauna & Flora

Pale green fields make up the equatorial plants. Forty meter tall trees dominate much of the landscape near the seas and mountains. Drytrees and shrubbery grow in the desert. Animals are at the beginning of multicelullar evolution, slugs are the largest most intelligent animals on the planet besides humans.

Natural Resources

Drytrees are exported to the rest of the UPC for use in construction.
