Session 1: The Unlucky Ones
General Summary
Preacher Mortem is acting as judge, jury and executioner of a man the Church has found guilty of harrassing and trying to abuse a woman of the cloth.
Drex is tasked with looting different areas in different towns
Volte has proven himself useful in creating weapons, and is therefore asked to go to Oakenhost to enter into agreements for others to purchase weapons, therefore helping the Steamvault tribe.
Moonlight completed his job for the goblins and is offered another lucrative one in Oakenhost.
No'it stops at a fallen tribe and finds a holy symbol for Millverne. He spends the night and prepares for the trek to Oakenhost.
A woman is seen upset and crying by a noticeboard. Each individual is interested in some way to help her and all approach on their own. They decide to take the job and sign up at the local adventurers guild to gain access to payment for this job. They head out to find the mother and within a few days of leaving Oakenhost they locate the bodyof the mother and her 2 bodyguards. They find a letter on her body from the daughter. Taking it, they head back to Oakenhost where Mortem breaks the news to the woman with little regard for her feelings; moon taking notes on the delivery of such news and how it is handled by the receiver.
At this time, another woman walks up holding books. She places her hand on Mortems and suggests a more compassionate way of speaking to others. He feels bad and eventually takes money to the shrine of Loanlo as penitence. The others hang back...Moonlight very interested in the books she is carrying. She allows him to take one and he goes off to read it.
After that even takes place, some leave for the guildhall to collect their money. Volte also heads to the bookstore to find a specific book. While searching, Drex comes in and decides to help. He finds a book that interests him as well and sits to read while Volte still searches.
Volte, unable to find the book he wants, sees a back area with different types of weapons and a book with, what he feels, is arcane words. Drex eventually helps him find a book and the group ends their day.
Mortem was given a cursed object the day before, without being told it was cursed. The next morning all but Mortem are there to receive the next job from the guild. They go out in search and Volte remembers that Mortem likes to spend time at the bookstore. They head over there to see the book store lady holding the cursed item, effectively removing the curse from Mortem. Drex asks if they can have this melted down into something and she hands the item over. He goes to the local blacksmith; is given an amount to pay and told to come back.
the session finishes with them gearing up to leave Oakenhost.
