Elf

Elves are a magical people of otherworldly grace, living in the world but not entirely part of it. They live in places of ethereal beauty, in the midst of ancient forests or in silvery spires glittering with faerie light, where soft music drifts through the air and gentle fragrances waft on the breeze. Elves love nature and magic, art and artistry, music and poetry, and the good things of the world.
~ Elves - D&D 5e Player's Handbook

Otherworldly Immigrants

The Elves of Luridel are decendants of an immigrant people, the Elder Eladrin who came from the Faywild after the creation of the world. Early on in their explorations, the gateway between the two realms shifted and closed, leaving many of the Elves ancestors trapped in this strange new world. Their struggle did not lessen when they encountered the natural inhabitants of Luridel, and it wasn't until the awakening of the Dwarves that they finally found an ally.

Diversity

Much like their ancient ancestors, Elves are extremely diverse in culture, appearance and ability. The Elves of Luridel are broken into several subspecies which showcase their natural diversity, longevity and adaptability to the world around them.

Ageless Wonder

Most Elves live naturally for upwards of 600-700 years, and though they do tend to settle down eventually, their love of exploration and beauty gives them a natural sense of wonder when meeting new people or exploring new places. Elder Eladrin, the elves ancestor however, were essentially immortal, living until killed violently in the Feywild, this trait ceased when the gateway was sealed.
