Elf

Elves are the most mysterious race on Lumune and are therefore often present in myths and stories of other races. In some cultures, elves might be considered the most perfect being. Elves themselves on the other hand, mostly do not care for the idealistic views of the world and mostly just curious about the world and people around them. There are two major groups of elves: the Elves of Alrion and the Cyran elves that live in west Eperone. The Thafahon are a minor group of elves that live in Begfuhn Ríki.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Elves are morphologically similar to Humans, but have far more finesse in their looks. They are slender and have fine features. Distinctive about their face is their sharp cheekbones and chin as well as some nice pointy ears that vary in all shapes and sizes. Elves are considered a very beautiful race, having almost to no bodily hair (their only hair is on the top of their heads) and their. Their skin colour has a wide variation of colours, that next to the human skin colours also includes copper, bronze or even a bluish or greenish-white. Their eye colour can range from blue, brown, green, grey to violet or even gold and silver.

Growth Rate & Stages

Elves initially age at the same rate as humans, being physically mature at an age of 18-20. However, Elves keep a young look for much longer and only start to show wear and tear at the age of 500-600.

Fertility and Birth

The long live of elves has come with a cost: lower fertility of the species. Therefore many populations of elves have yearly celebrations to have males and females intermingle with each other. Also for this reason, pregnant women are often considered holy and everything is done to aid and ease the carrying and birth of the baby.

Reaching Adulthood

Because elves live such long lives, they are not considered adults until the age of around 100, although they are fully grown much before that. Reaching adulthood mostly comes with great celebrations and in higher families with initiation rituals.
