The Halo

Or, to be more specific, the Halofragment is one of two symbols that immediately distinguishes the Angels from any other race only dwarfed by the wings themselves. With is pure golden glow the Halo incites fear, subservience, and reverence when spotted by humans or similar mortal beings as it is directly connected to the magic an Angel can summon.
This magic was instrumental in the war and conquest efforts so the stories about it and the Halo have spread around the world colouring it in an dangerous, yet marvelous light. But even under Halos, there are categories of power. Where a bigger fragment creates more power than a small one a full halo dwarfs anything lesser, but then some angels possess multiple Halos standing, again, above everyone else. It's said that the Bright White King himself has so many Halos that they form a full sphere over his head.
An Angel would never remove their Halo, so they have no other choice but to display it, and they do wear them with the self assured arrogance so common for their race. In their eyes a Halo is just another reason every other being should praise and serve them.

Mechanik & Funktionsweise

The Halo is the inner most part of an Angels soul, ripped out during the Ritual it is placed above the Head of its owner and can be tapped to summon a powerfull magical weapon and energie blasts.
It radiates intense heat and can only be removed savely by either another Angel or post-mortem.

Herstellungsprozess

The future wielder must kneel inside the circle of energy and blood whilst the blade that has been tempered in a mix of oil and their blood is raised above the head of the one that executes the ritual. When the magic is focussed in the steel it is plunged down into the chest of the wielder and the soul will be freed by this. From golden light will form the Halo or fragment there of.
